What facilities are there at Scenic Sauna? We have two covered private changing rooms on site as well as an open changing area with key lockers. There are also additional private changing rooms a short walk away within the Far Peak camping facilities. If you wear your swimmers underneath that makes it easy to strip off! We do not have a toilet in our corner of the site. Toilets and showers are provided by Far Peak Estate away from the site so we recommend using the facilities prior to arriving for your session; you'll walk past the toilets on your way to us by the Old Smokery. The Hayloft Cafe on the Far Peak Estate cater for all you coffee, cake and food requirements. As well as the beautifully crafted traditional Finnish barrel sauna, we have three filtered and chilled ice baths, cool rainfall open shower and an outdoor relaxation area exclusive to Scenic Sauna guests to unwind between sauna and bathing. New to the site is our covered yoga and breath-work space, soon to offer weekly classes and retreats.

Will I be sharing a sauna/ ice bath?Sessions are shared with up to 8 people in the sauna. The ice baths are for one to two people at a time. This is a great and affordable way for individuals and smaller groups who are happy to share the space. Private Hire: If you prefer to use the Sauna privately, you can book the facilities for exclusive use via our private bookings page here.
-
Who can use the sauna and/or ice bath?Up to 8 sauna users at a time and 1 -2 persons a time in the ice baths. If you are pregnant or have any underlying health problems, please seek advice from your doctor first. We believe that the sauna benefits your health, but it does get hot! So be aware of your body, take lots of breaks and keep hydrated. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult on a 1:1 ratio.
-
How should I prepare for my sauna /ice bath?We ask that you have recently showered before entering the sauna and ice baths in the hot showers a short walk away on the Far Peak Business Park site (only available during summer) or at home before leaving to travel to us. As we don't have toilet facilities, we recommend using the toilets at Far Peak (by the Old Smokery or camping toilets) on your walk to us.
-
What should I bring? To get the most from your session we recommend you bring: - Swimwear - Flip flops / sliders to walk between the areas (we are a woodland site so the floor can have sharp spikes) - TWO towels (one to sit on in the sauna, one to dry yourself with) - Water bottle - A robe (for extra luxury!) The changing room space is limited during busier periods so to make it easy for you, we recommend coming in comfortable clothes that are quick to change - even sticking your swimmers on underneath for a super quick switch! Please remember we are an outdoor site! Dress accordingly :) Please note: The walk to Scenic Sauna is currently muddy due to the heavy rainfall we've experienced over winter. Please go carefully and mindfully and consider this with your footwear choice. You are very welcome to bring along soft drinks (we supply water for free!) to re-hydrate during your visit. You are also welcome to bring nibbles if required to enjoy in the relaxation areas only (salty is good for post sauna mineral replacement). Please don’t take any food inside the saunas or ice baths themselves.

Where can I find Scenic Sauna? You'll find us at Far Peak, Northleach, GL54 3AP. We are located in the woodland behind the outdoor climbing. There is plenty of free parking, changing and toilet facilities and the Hayloft Cafe/ Old Smokery with tea, coffee, cake and lunch offerings. Park up and head towards the cafe, passing on your right towards the climbing tower. Walk past the tower towards the woodland and you'll find us among the trees. Please note: The walk to Scenic Sauna is currently muddy due to the heavy rainfall we've experienced over winter. Please go carefully and mindfully and consider this with your footwear choice.
-
How long are the sessions? Each slot lasts 50 minutes but you shouldn't be in for the sauna or ice bath this whole time. We recommend sauna sessions of 5-15mins with lots of breaks or dips in the ice baths in between - start with 30 seconds in the ice bath up to 2 minutes. You are welcome to book back-to-back sessions for a longer experience. Make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes early to get yourself checked in and ready and showered to make full use of your slot. We ask that you shower before entering the sauna or ice baths either in the hot showers a short walk away (available in summer months only) or at home before travelling to us.
-
Food and Drink Policy - Can I bring snacks/ alcohol? It may seem like a good idea to relax with a glass of beer, but in our experience saunas, cold plunges and alcohol don’t go well together and can increase the risk of accidents. We therefore have a strict no-alcohol policy within the Scenic Sauna areas. We also reserve the right to deny entry to any individuals that we deem to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol without a refund or credit. You are very welcome to bring along soft drinks (we supply water for free!) to re-hydrate during your visit. You are also welcome to bring nibbles if required to enjoy in the relaxation areas only (salty is good for post sauna mineral replacement). Please don’t take any food inside the saunas or cold plunge themselves.
